Top Netherlands Filming Destination
The Veluwe, located in Gelderland, offers diverse landscapes like small lakes, heath, sand drifts and woodland that are ideal for adding depth to video production. In addition to a variety of animals and foliage, the Veluwe boasts four zoos and over 50 museums, including an art museum, the Kröller-Müller as well as Het Loo, a royal palace.
Located in the Waterland and Zaan Region of North Holland, Monnickendam is a harbor town that boasts a historical center. Comprised of 74 buildings, this area dates back to the 16th century and has been designated as a Protected Cityscape. Easy to explore either by foot or bike, Monnickendam offers stunning views of its waterways and harbors.
The east bank of the Zaan River is the site of Zaanse Schans, an open-air museum and conservation area. There, you'll find functioning windmills, green wooden houses and craftsman's workshops, making them are popular with tourists. In an effort to recreate what historians believe the Zaan River might have looked like prior to the Industrial Revolution, many of the buildings have been meticulously restored.
A small town of only 17,000 residents, Urk's diminutive size makes it easy to explore and to get to know the people. In addition to a fishery museum and a lighthouse, Urk is home to an authentic area as well as a place where stones dating back to the ice age can be viewed.

The West Frisian Islands are a chain of islands that lie in between the North Sea and the Wadden Sea. Several islands are uninhabited and require a permit to access their borders.
